Bhagavad Gita 1.41
अधर्माभिभवात्कृष्ण प्रदुष्यन्ति कुलस्त्रियः । स्त्रीषु दुष्टासु वार्ष्णेय जायते वर्णसङ्करः ॥
adharmābhibhavāt kṛṣṇa praduṣyanti kula-striyaḥ | strīṣu duṣṭāsu vārṣṇeya jāyate varṇa-saṅkaraḥ ||
Translation
When lawlessness prevails, the women of the family become corrupted; when the women are corrupted, intermixture of castes is born.

The slope steepens. The argument now passes through women and through caste, in the moral terms of his era. Read closely, what Arjuna is doing here is reaching for every consequence catastrophe will produce so that the catastrophe will not have to be enacted. Some of the consequences are real. Some are the cultural fears of his time. Both are deployed to the same end: avoid the action by inflating its sequel. The technique is recognizable.
