Translation
The Deity said: Those who, fixing their mind on me, worship me, ever-yoked, endowed with supreme faith, them I consider the best yoked.
Reflection
What is the highest version of your practice, even if you cannot reach it today?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Twelve
Krishna answers without hedging. Those who place their mind in me, who worship me ever-yoked, endowed with supreme faith, those I consider the best of the yoked. Mayy aveshya manah. Fixing the mind in me. Three terms hold the answer. The mind goes into Krishna, the engagement is constant, the faith is supreme. Yuktatamah, the most perfectly yoked. The superlative makes the preference clear. The choice is not put neutrally. Krishna identifies the personal devotional path as the highest. The reasoning will follow in the verses below. Before reasoning, the verdict is given. The reader who came in unsure which path the Gita ultimately commends gets the answer in the second verse of the chapter.
