Bhagavad Gita 12.4
सन्नियम्येन्द्रियग्रामं सर्वत्र समबुद्धयः | ते प्राप्नुवन्ति मामेव सर्वभूतहिते रताः ||
sanniyamyendriya-grāmaṁ sarvatra sama-buddhayaḥ | te prāpnuvanti mām eva sarva-bhūta-hite ratāḥ ||
Translation
With senses fully restrained, of equal mind everywhere, rejoicing in the welfare of all beings, they also attain me.
Reflection
What other path that is not yours can you still recognize as reaching the same place?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Twelve
The disciplines of this other path are named. Sanniyamya indriya-gramam, having fully restrained the host of the senses. Sarvatra sama-buddhayah, with mind even in all places. Sarva-bhuta-hite ratah, delighting in the welfare of all beings. Three disciplines stack. Sense-control. Equanimity. Universal benevolence. Then the verdict on this path. Te prapnuvanti mam eva, they too attain me. The eva matters. They reach the same one. The path is not denied its result. The chapter has just told us in 12.2 that the devotional path is the highest. It now tells us in 12.4 that the jnana-yoga path arrives at the same destination. The next verse will name the difference between them, and the difference will be one of practical difficulty, not of ultimate goal.
