Bhagavad Gita 18.64
सर्वगुह्यतमं भूयः शृणु मे परमं वचः । इष्टोऽसि मे दृढमिति ततो वक्ष्यामि ते हितम् ॥
sarva-guhyatamaṃ bhūyaḥ śṛṇu me paramaṃ vacaḥ / iṣṭo 'si me dṛḍham iti tato vakṣyāmi te hitam
Translation
Hear again my supreme word, the most secret of all. You are firmly dear to me, therefore I shall tell you what is for your good.

How does it land that the teaching is offered because you are dear, not because you must obey?

Krishna pulls back into one more teaching, framed as the very last. Sarva-guhyatamam, the most secret of all. Bhuya, again, once more. The reason given is not authority but affection. Ishto 'si me dridham, you are firmly dear to me. The teacher tells what is hita, beneficial, from love, not from doctrine. Notice the emotional register. The conversation has moved from cosmic philosophy through diagnostic taxonomies to this almost intimate line. The Gita is large; it is also tender. The two verses that follow will deliver the most condensed teaching of the entire text. Krishna is preparing the ground with this gentle direct address.
