Bhagavad Gita 3.26
न बुद्धिभेदं जनयेदज्ञानां कर्मसङ्गिनाम् । जोषयेत्सर्वकर्माणि विद्वान्युक्तः समाचरन् ॥
na buddhi-bhedaṃ janayed ajñānāṃ karma-saṅginām | joṣayet sarva-karmāṇi vidvān yuktaḥ samācaran ||
Translation
A wise man, steadily acting, should not produce confusion of mind in the ignorant who are attached to action; he should make them perform all their action.

Whose working belief have you been about to disturb, before you checked whether they could stand without it?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Three
The teacher's restraint named. Do not break the working understanding of the people who are still operating on attached action. Their attachment is moving them through the wheel; pulling it out before they are ready leaves them paralyzed. Joṣayet, set them at ease in their work. The verse is striking by Gita standards: it is asking the wise not to teach what the wise have learned. Shankara reads this as the ethic of the half-completed student: do not destabilize anyone who is still where you used to be. Move them by example, not by argument.
