Bhagavad Gita 4.42
तस्मादज्ञानसम्भूतं हृत्स्थं ज्ञानासिनात्मनः । छित्त्वैनं संशयं योगमातिष्ठोत्तिष्ठ भारत ॥
tasmād ajñāna-sambhūtaṃ hṛt-sthaṃ jñānāsinātmanaḥ | chittvainaṃ saṃśayaṃ yogam ātiṣṭhottiṣṭha bhārata ||
Translation
Therefore, having destroyed by the sword of knowledge this doubt of yours, born of ignorance, dwelling in the heart, betake yourself to yoga, and arise, O descendant of Bharata.

What doubt has been sitting in your chest that the long teaching has already given you the sword to cut?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Four
Uttiṣṭha. Stand up. The chapter closes with the verb that opened the teaching back in 2.3. Jñāna-asinā chittvā, by the sword of knowledge, cut. The doubt was born of ignorance, it sits in the heart, it must be cut. Then yogam ātiṣṭha, take up yoga. Then uttiṣṭha, stand up. Three imperatives, in order. The chapter that opened with the question of how the lineage works ends with the same instruction Krishna gave at the start of Chapter Two. Aurobindo reads the return as deliberate: the long detour through avatar, sacrifice, and knowledge does not change the first instruction. It makes it possible to obey.
