Bhagavad Gita 10.16
वक्तुमर्हस्यशेषेण दिव्या ह्यात्मविभूतयः | याभिर्विभूतिभिर्लोकानिमांस्त्वं व्याप्य तिष्ठसि ||
vaktum arhasy aśeṣeṇa divyā hy ātma-vibhūtayaḥ | yābhir vibhūtibhir lokān imāṁs tvaṁ vyāpya tiṣṭhasi ||
Translation
You alone are fit to tell, completely, the divine glories of yourself, by which glories you stand pervading these worlds.

Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Ten
The request is made. Arjuna asks Krishna to tell, without leaving anything out, the divine vibhutis of His own self by which He stands pervading these worlds. Two parts of the request matter. Asheshena, completely, expresses the student's hunger for the full picture, even though he has just admitted the picture cannot be fully held. Atma-vibhutayah, the glories of His own self, names the right object. He is not asking about the world as a system. He is asking about the world as the trace of Krishna. The phrase vyapya tishthasi, you stand pervading, sets the form of the answer. The catalogue to come will not be a list of separate possessions. It will be a series of locations where the same pervading source can be glimpsed.
