Bhagavad Gita 11.27
वक्त्राणि ते त्वरमाणा विशन्ति दंष्ट्राकरालानि भयानकानि | केचिद्विलग्ना दशनान्तरेषु सन्दृश्यन्ते चूर्णितैरुत्तमाङ्गैः ||
vaktrāṇi te tvaramāṇā viśanti daṁṣṭrā-karālāni bhayānakāni | kecid vilagnā daśanāntareṣu sandṛśyante cūrṇitair uttamāṅgaiḥ ||
Translation
Are rushing entering your mouths terrible with fangs, fearful. Some are seen clinging between the teeth with crushed heads.

Their entering is described. Rushing into your mouths terrible with fangs and fearful. Some are seen clinging between the teeth with crushed heads. Churnitair uttamangaih, with heads ground to powder. The image is brutal and precise. The mouths are not symbols for receiving worship. The teeth bite. The bodies that enter lose the highest part of them, the head, ground down. Arjuna who has been hymning is now seeing his own cousins reduced inside the form he is praising. The Gita does not shrink from this image. It allows the vision to be fully seen before the answer comes. What the divine eye opens to is not only beauty but also the moment of destruction held inside the same body that holds the gods.
