Bhagavad Gita 15.5

Translation
Free from pride and delusion, having conquered the evil of attachment, ever in the supreme spirit, with desires turned away, released from the pairs known as joy and sorrow, the undeluded go to that imperishable place.
Reflection
Which of the five marks is most clearly missing, and what is the smallest next step?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Fifteen
List of five marks before the address. Free of vanity and the soft fog of delusion first. Then the cling-defect already conquered, not still being fought. Constant residence in adhyatma, the inward axis, instead of weekend visits. Desires turned around, not strangled. Pairs of joy and sorrow loosened to the point where they pass through without leaving stains. Walkers wearing those five marks reach a place that does not wear out. List works backward as a diagnostic: which one is still missing right now? That missing line is the next stretch of practice, not a verdict on character.
