Bhagavad Gita 16.5
दैवी सम्पद्विमोक्षाय निबन्धायासुरी मता । मा शुचः सम्पदं दैवीमभिजातोऽसि पाण्डव ॥
daivī sampad vimokṣāya nibandhāyāsurī matā mā śucaḥ sampadaṁ daivīm abhijāto 'si pāṇḍava
Translation
The divine endowment is deemed for liberation, the demonic for bondage. Grieve not, O Pandava, you are born to the divine endowment.

Read the asuri roster slowly, then name yourself by inheritance rather than by your worst stirrings.

Two endowments, two trajectories. Daivi tilts the life toward release. Asuri tilts the same life toward fresh chains. Then Krishna leans in and says ma shuchah: do not grieve. He has noticed Arjuna scanning the asuri roster for himself and getting alarmed. The reassurance is precise. Arjuna is born to the divine inheritance. The asuri portrait is being given not as accusation but as map. Knowing the demonic shape lets the seeker recognize early stirrings. Self-diagnosis without self-condemnation. The verse models how a teacher hands hard material: lay both sides clearly, then anchor the student in their actual inheritance. Grief at the roster freezes practice. Calm reading of the roster sharpens it.
