Bhagavad Gita 18.66
सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज । अहं त्वा सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः ॥
sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṃ śaraṇaṃ vraja / ahaṃ tvā sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ
Translation
Abandoning all duties, come to me alone for refuge. I will free you from all sins. Do not grieve.

The carama-shloka, the final verse, the one the tradition has called the heart of the Gita. Sarva-dharman parityajya, having let go of all dharmas, all duties, all conventional reliances. Mam ekam sharanam vraja, come to me alone for refuge. Aham tva sarva-papebhyo mokshayishyami, I will release you from every sin. Ma shuchaha, do not grieve. The verse has been read in two ways for centuries, the absolute surrender of every other support and the surrender of attachment to results while continuing the duties. Both readings live in the verse. What is unquestionable is the personal address. The Lord himself takes responsibility for the freeing. Grief is dismissed as no longer warranted.
