Chapter 18Verse 68 of 78

Bhagavad Gita 18.68

य इमं परमं गुह्यं मद्भक्तेष्वभिधास्यति । भक्तिं मयि परां कृत्वा मामेवैष्यत्यसंशयः ॥

ya imaṃ paramaṃ guhyaṃ mad-bhakteṣv abhidhāsyati / bhaktiṃ mayi parāṃ kṛtvā mām evaiṣyaty asaṃśayaḥ

Translation

He who will declare this supreme secret to my devotees, having performed supreme devotion to me, will undoubtedly come to me.

The teacher-merit verse. One who imam paramam guhyam, this supreme secret, abhidhasyati, will declare, mad-bhakteshu, among my devotees, with bhakti mayi param having been done first, will come to Krishna himself, asamshaya, without doubt. Two conditions are quietly stipulated. The audience is mad-bhaktas, those already oriented toward Krishna, not unprepared crowds. The teacher's own preparation is parama bhakti, supreme devotion already established. With both conditions met, the teaching transmits, and the teacher reaches the same destination as the one taught. The Gita protects the lineage by being explicit about what it takes to carry it forward, not formal credentials but interior fitness.
