Bhagavad Gita 7.26
वेदाहं समतीतानि वर्तमानानि चार्जुन | भविष्याणि च भूतानि मां तु वेद न कश्चन ||
vedāhaṁ samatītāni vartamānāni cārjuna | bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni māṁ tu veda na kaścana ||
Translation
I know the things which have past, those which are present, and those which are to come, O Arjuna; but me nobody knows.
Reflection
Today, can you notice the seer behind any thing you see?
Read this verse in its chapter: Chapter Seven
He knows everything that has been, is, and will be. No one knows Him. The asymmetry is total. He is the seer of all beings. He Himself is not seen by any of them. This is not a boast. It is a description of the relation between the knower and the known. The eye that sees the room is not seen in the room. The light by which the room is lit is what reveals everything but is itself never the object of what it reveals. Krishna names Himself as that light. The verse is brief on purpose. Sitting with it for a moment shifts the whole frame.
